“ SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS”, WITH A FOCUS ON NBR & RUBBER MOLD TECHNOLOGY''
After the success of “Sharpen Your Skills - with a focus on Natural Rubber”, at Nashik, AIRIA – Western Region organized the second session on “Sharpen Your Skills – with a focus on NBR and Rubber Mold Technology” at Nashik on Friday – 27th November, 2015.
The Seminar commenced with the welcome address of the AIRIA –Western Region member, Mr. Ishank R. Poldiya. He welcomed Distinguished speakers Dr. A.M. Prabhu, Senior General Manager – MTS – Omnova Solutions India P. Ltd., Mr. S.N. Deshmukh, Senior Manager Sales – Omnova Solutions India P. Ltd., Mr. Gopal Sirdespande – Head of NTTF, Murbad Branch. Subsequently he welcomed Mr. Ketan Shah, AIRIA, Managing committee member, Mr. Yazdi B. Patel, AIRIA, Western Region committee member and Mr. Mitul J. Vora, Vice-Chairman, AIRIA – Western Region.
The program started with an address by Mr. Ketan Shah, AIRIA, Managing committee member, where he spoke about how the “Sharpen Your Skills” program was started under leadership of Mr. Sachin Chandak, Chairman, AIRIA – Western Region and receiving overwhelming response from the members it was taken up at other locations at Pune, Gujarat and Nashik.
The session had a presentation on Basic chemistry of NBR, followed by types of NBR and criteria to select the right NBR type basis application, which was covered by Dr A.M. Prabhu and Mr. S.N. Deshmukh, then spoke at length about hydrogenated NBR (H-NBR), X-NBR & powdered NBR, their typical properties & applications.
Basic compounding of NBR, ingredients & their purpose, sequence of mixing, Blends with NBR-NBR:PVC, New Developments in Industry was discussed and explained in detail by Dr.A.M. Prabhu.
Mr. Gopal Sirdespande had a presentation on Rubber Mold Technology – Types of Molding, Mold Material, Mold Machining Technology, Latest trend in machining Technology, Metal treatment, Cavity and Inserts of Machining, Mold Finishing, Mold maintenance and care.
Mr. Sachin Phadke – General Manager (Trade development), AIRIA outlined the different AIRIA activities happening at national and regional level and gave presentation on membership drive for AIRIA.
The event was highly appreciated by the audience and thanked AIRIA to make an effort in reaching their members and refreshing and giving new insight in their knowledge. The interaction during the session with the speakers were in-depth reflecting their involvement.
The program ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Mitul J. Vora, Vice-Chairman, AIRIA – Western Region.
